Hey Hog,

First off, your videos are genius. They have helped so much with my current dating situation!! You've got to have a degree in Psychology or something.

(Actually, my degree is in ADVANCED... Awesomeology. But, thank you!)

About a month ago, I met this guy through a friend of a friend of a friend at a birthday party. Pretty random. But as it turns out, this guy is seriously the most genuine, thoughtful and handsome guy I've ever been lucky enough to date.

He's a bit shy, and doesn't have "game" but he is a gentlemen. We've been on probably 10 dates so far and I think we both really like each other.

However, until now we have only talked about surface stuff, like music, hobbies, friends and family. I really like this guy, and I want to open up a bit more and have a personal and more meaningful conversation. I'd like to take it to the next level.

My question: How can I get this guy to open up more? How can I initiate a conversation that involves emotion and personal experiences without being all mushy and gushy and lame? I want to get to know this guy! I really like him but he's so shy and closed up!

Here is how you get a person to open up.

Don't just talk about facts, talking about feelings.

Talking about feelings is only mushy and lame if you make it that way. Actually, it should be very exciting. Because this is where you really get to discover what makes this person tick -- and also, you get to experience the relief of allowing him into your life a bit. To let your guard down. That's a good feeling.

THE LAME WAY

HIM: Oh man, it's starting to rain!

YOU: Rain. So how does that make you feeeeeeeeeel?

THE HOGWILD WAY

HIM: Oh man, it's starting to rain!

YOU: Ya know, one of my little fantasies is to get a passionate kiss in the rain like in the movies.

HIM: Oh yeah! (attacking with sloppy kiss)

YOU: (wiping his drool off face) Wow! That WAS just like in the movies! (muttering) A horror movie where the monster attacks.

HIM: What?

YOU: Oh nothing. That was great. So do you have any little fantasies of your own like that?
