IF I ever get married :) I want it to be somewhere romantic but all really cool, like on top of a mountain! But with my luck I would probably drop the ring in the snow and never find it! :D

I would take her to a restaurant-- a really classy one with tablecloths and silverware. Then I would get down on one knee and say, "Baby, you dropped something. Oh, and here. Take this diamond ring."

Then hopefully we would get a free piece of cake from the waiter! :P

At the top of the ferris wheel!

I would take the girl to a Chinese restaurant and I'd have them put the ring in her fortune cookie!

On the beach. We're walking alone. Then he stops to ask me. I say yes. I cry. Then he slings me over his shoulder and makes wild love to me in the ocean.

We've had the most amazing night together in New York City and the sun is starting to come up. But instead of going home, he takes me on a horse and carriage ride through Central Park. Then he asks me to marry him!

Hopefully the horse doesn't poop when he asks me! That would be a bad omen! LOL!

Waaaaay too young to be ready BUT I have to admit I've thought about "the moment". We'd be out dancing... maybe salsa? Sipping mojitos (of course!) and then he literally sweeps me off my feet and as I'm looking up at him, he pops the big question.

My husband proposed in our living room. He made me homemade pancakes and when I was finishing them, he got down on one knee and proposed. I thought it was perfect because we are not too showy and didn't want all the hoopla that goes with public proposals in front of strangers. I will remember pancakes forever.

@heddafish: OMG your husband is SOOOOOOOOO sweet!

@ Caroline: You stole my answer! LOL! Except for the going in the ocean part because I can't swim!

I would never agree to marry a man unless I'm about to have an orgasm and have no rational senses. But I'm sure it's nice for other people. :)

I think it's not so much where/what that's important as who!

Pick the most beautiful setting and it all goes to hell if it's with the wrong person. Hog always says selecting the right person is the most important part of any relationship.

That being said, once you have the right person, I think the best situation would on a vacation. Just a relaxing time together and then when the moment is right, ask for her hand. I'm with heddafish, it should be a private thing.

@ Ron M: that would be amazing! Maybe we should be together because if there are two things I love, they are Chinese food and diamonds! LOL!

My ultimate setting would be at a huge concert. And Kanye West asks me to marry him from the stage. :D

But back in reality, I don't think the place would matter to me too much as long as he really made an effort to make it a memorable and special moment.
