My girlfriend basically steps all over me and I don't know how to stop it. She will act like a spoiled child to get her way. How do I fix this?

YOU: Oh, don't be mad! OK, I'll go downstairs to the hospital's cafeteria to get you a cookie. Will you help me move my broken leg and broken arm and disconnect my oxygen tank so I can go?

YOUR PARTNER: (still pouting with arms crossed)

YOU: You're right. I'll disconnect it myself.

Most humans would act like a baby their entire lives if they could... because it's fun!

You're never wrong! You can make outrageous demands!

Feed me!

Cuddle me!

Wipe my butt!

Sucker!

Don't accept this misbehavior!

In a relationship, you make decisions with your feet.

Yeah, kick 'em in the ass!

No! Use your feet to leave. No hitting, no screaming. No threats. Explain how you will not tolerate the misbehavior. If it doesn't change, then you leave. Temporarily or permanently.

YOU: You're driving me crazy. I need to time to myself. I'll be staying with my friend.

YOUR PARTNER: What?! For how long?

YOU: I don't know yet. I'll call you in a few days. I need time to myself.

YOUR PARTNER: OK, but before you go can you make me a few dinners for the week? But not your meatloaf. It sucks. I don't understand why you would you want to be away from me! Oh, and your pot roast is worse than your meatloaf.

Most people want boundaries. Most people want to respect you. But some people push, push, push! With them you must lay down the law!

Are you scared they might leave if you stand up for yourself?
