I've just joined your site and I find it so informative and eye opening... everyone should be a member!

I've been seeing this older girl and we've hit it off great at first. We went on vacation a while back and I finally got to meet her parents.

She wanted to go as just friends because past trips with boyfriends ended up horribly.

We've had sex a couple times before the trip and everything was great.

When we got back from visiting her family, things began to fall apart. She wouldn't make eye contact, she is always quiet and we haven't had sex or any kind of kissing or affection whatsoever, even when I made the attempt. When trying to speak to her about it, she says nothing is wrong.

What should I do? I care for her deeply and I don't want to lose her!

Ya know, back in my less-gentle days, I'd say to a girl like that, "Talk WOMAN! What the hell is wrong with you?! Talk! Talk! Talk!"

Then if she still didn't speak, I'd grab her face and move her lips, "TALK TO ME!!!"

But now, I'm more gentle. More patient. And I will teach you the ways.

You’ve pin-pointed that things changed after the trip. You need to find out exactly what happened. You need to be direct and talk with her. You need to be the man and lead this conversation in a direct and tender way.

Remember you must always be willing to walk away if she doesn’t act correctly. It’s not just that you might lose her, she might lose YOU! YOU are a good guy and if you treat her well, then she won’t want you to leave.

Never accept unacceptable behavior because you're scared to lose someone. And her withholding affection and refusing to communicate -- that's unacceptable.

THINGS THAT ARE UNACCEPTABLE IN A RELATIONSHIP

- withholding the kissy-kissy
- being upset and not talking about it
- making love to other people without the common courtesy of inviting your partner to hold the video camera

Ideally, get her alone and in person and sit down together. Say, “Listen, things have been different since the trip. Obviously something happened, but I don’t know what. I care about you so much. Did I hurt your feelings with something I said or did?

"Like when I squeezed your mom's ass and gave your dad a high-five? Because that was just a joke, sweetheart. Just like when I told your parents that I worship the devil.

Be very patient and wait for her answer.

Hopefully she will be mature enough to tell you at this point.
